To get to L'île d’Yeu, you can't really avoid driving to the department of the Vendée. An ideal holiday destination, it combines beaches, forest groves and leisure activities for the whole family. Leaving L'île d’Yeu, you can stop in one of the famous seaside resorts - Saint-Jean-de-Monts, Sables-d'Olonne, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie or the island of Noirmoutier.
Of the hundreds of islands that dot the French west coast, only fifteen are permanently inhabited like the Ile d’Yeu. They are known as the Isles of Ponant.
